Help the pigs
Pigs Peace Sanctuary needs your help in this tough Winter storm in the Pacific Northwest Two pigs walking in the snow towards their shelter

To our animal loving friends,

The first wave of this storm has dumped a lot of snow making it difficult for the animals to get to their food and their water dishes. The snow makes it difficult to clear their feeding areas and get food to them -as well as working with frozen water dishes and keeping water hoses thawed.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has just issued a Storm Warning for our region tonight with wind chill values between 18 and 23 and snow up to 5 inches on top of what we already have!

Ongoing freezing temperatures always bring additional problems. With all the buildings and shelters at the sanctuary there are many pipes that can freeze or burst, electrical lines that are overloaded by heating demands and equipment, appliances and gear that fails. With every repair old equipment is replaced with new and better protected solutions -but this is essentially an old farm and much of what we have has been in place for many decades.

As long as our well is running we can haul water, food and hay for the beds to all the shelters -but doing so in deep snow means working into the darkness.

Your donation to help the animals in this winter storm will immediately:

  • Stock fresh hay. Over and over again!!
  • Buy Canned cat food for the much loved feral cats often invisible to visitors.
  • Buy soy milk by the case to keep pig Honey and any physically challenged pigs hydrated.
  • Help with replacement and repairs of equipment weather damaged.
  • Please help with donations to pay for unsalted roasted peanuts so the pigs can have a promised peanut party IN ALL THE BEDS OF ALL THE PIGS when they are trapped inside due to the deep snow!!!

Thank you so very much for your love and support!

In service for the animals,
