Help the pigs
Walk for the Animals!

The Pigs Peace Walk for the Animals was a big success! Many walkers participated by enlisting their family, friends and neighbors to sponsor them as they walked Greenlake to help the animals.

Thanks to Shay Kelly, who illustrates how one person can make a difference. She approached Pigs Peace Sanctuary with the idea of hosting a Walk for the Animals and then proceeded to make this event happen. Thank you Shay for your amazing generosity!

Many passerby's stopped to learn about Pigs Peace Sanctuary.

Lots of walkers

Even after the walkers had left many passerby's stopped to learn about the walk and the work of the sanctuary.

Volunteers were on hand registering walkers and answering many questions about the animals who have been rescued.

Cold drinks and snacks were donated by several companies.

Face Painting

Jules Anslow, a local artist, painted the cheeks of many walkers before they set out to walk around the lake.

Jules was always easy to find surrounded by children wanting to see what the next painted cheek would look like!

Justine Kelly models a face painting by Jules.

Billy the Pig

Billy the Pig was popular with walkers big and small.

For many this was their first chance to meet one of the pigs from the sanctuary, which is open every Sunday afternoon.
